-ONLINE MEETING FORMAT-
(Revised December 26, 2019, Revised for Web Meetings April 6, 2020, proposed revision May 14 2020/VOTED MAY 30,2020)
Good Morning / Good Evening. My name is _______________
And I am an alcoholic.
Welcome to the Chiang Mai International Group of Alcoholics Anonymous Online Meeting.
Please join me in a moment of silence to remember why we are here followed by the serenity prayer.
Read the Preamble: (Screensharer)
“Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.”
This is an open meeting of AA. We welcome all, especially the newcomer. In keeping with our Third Tradition, which states: “the only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking”, we ask that all who participate keep their sharing focused on their problem with alcohol. Please keep your sharing to 3 to 5 minutes so all may share.
If you are not sharing please keep your microphone muted.
Not to embarrass you but to get to know you is there any new members in their first 30 days who wish to share their day count or, who it is their first time to an AA meeting.
Any first time attendees who would like to introduce themselves and where they are from?
Is there anyone celebrating an AA milestone, A birthday/Anniversary or multiple years?
Please ask the volunteer to read HOW IT WORKS/ MORE ABOUT ALCOHOLISM(Screensharer)
Topic of meeting: Announce the topic/reading for the meeting. (Screensharer)
Open the meeting for sharing.
Our time for today is up. Thank you to ____ for screen sharing, thanks to

If you are available to sponsor, temporarily or otherwise, please type your
name in the chat box.

Our 7th Tradition states: Every AA group ought to be fully self-supporting declining outside contributions. We will post the CMIG account to the chat box at the end of the meeting, and if you wish to contribute please do so via that account.
(Please cut and paste ito the chat box:

I’ve asked ___________ to read Promises/ Vision For You. (Screensharer)
Are there any AA- related announcements?
In keeping with Tradition 12, which states that “anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions ever reminding us to place principles before personalities”, remember, whom you see here and what you hear here, when you leave here, let it stay here.
Let us pause for a moment of silence to do with as we wish, followed by the serenity prayer.
NEW CHAIR INSTRUCTIONS/ REMINDERS
Chair is responsible to choose the day's readings, lead the meeting using the format below and generally keeping the meeting running smooth, and watching out for all participants onscreen in case someone needs assistance or is breaking down in some way.
--(As we are remote, the easiest way for Chair to watch faces, or waving hands, etc. is to first, try to:
(a) use your computer as it has a large screen, and
(b) check your device beforehand to find "gallery" mode.
(this will put up to 25 participants on your screen for you to see. This will be especially handy as meetings grow.)
--Finally, the Chairs are asked to send the day's readings to the screensharer 24 hours before their meeting if possible, so the screensharer can ready the documents. Chairs need only to tell the screensharer which book or document and selected pages. The screensharer will get them ready for you.
**Chair please ask folks as they come in if they will be willing to read How It Works and closing passages, (Promises or Vision for You)
PLEASE try to stay within the framework of our suggested format. You are representing the Chiang Mai Group of Alcoholics Anonymous to AA’s from all over the world as well as newcomers with a desire to learn more about AA. You may be the first impression of our fellowship and AA in Chiang Mai. We ask that you have a minimum of 3 months of sobriety and lead the meeting in a respectful and responsible manner.
* PLEASE try to arrive ten before the meeting to greet people as they arrive. Also, please remain after the meeting and make sure anyone with questions has someone to speak with. If you cannot stay, please find someone to help out. If you are not able to make the meeting you are committed to, please try to find a replacement.
*If one of our members is sharing too long or is out of order, you may remind the
person sharing of the time or topic of discussion (Please be polite use the chat feature first and if they do not respond POLITELY INTERRUPT). As the chairperson you are responsible for the smooth running of the meeting as are each of the other members attending.
‘Thank you for chairing the meeting – Keep Coming Back’
Thanks so much for your service!!
